I believe each of us feels the need, at times, to hide from the things that hurt us or the darkness in this world. So often, when I witness abuse, cruelty, or terror—especially towards animals or those who cannot defend themselves—I find myself thinking, “Where can I hide so I don’t have to see this anymore?” And I do hide, by surrounding myself with loved ones and through art. That’s where I escape, that’s where I forget the pain I feel when I see these things.
This is how the collection “Jewels on the Wall” was born—made of white ceramic, handcrafted, partially painted, and adorned with 24K gold leaf. Through elegance and simplicity, this collection expresses purity, beauty, and the kindness within our souls—within all of us who, sometimes, long to escape the darkness of the world.
